Hire vs buy in plain terms
Hire suits short jobs, shut-downs, and pads that move. Buy suits longer duty or sites that want the plant on hand. We're not putting prices on this page. Capex vs opex is your call once you've got options from the brief. Put “hire” or “buy” in the subject line so the reply starts in the right place.
What the brief needs
- Area size (rough is fine)
- Duty cycle (nights only, 24-hour, shut-down window)
- How often you'll move it
- Tow or skid preference
- Fuel or mains if you know it
- Mast height preference if the site already has a standard
- Timing and how many plants
Incomplete briefs are fine. Missing items just mean one more email.
How plants sit next to fixed floods
A plant often bridges a permanent install. You light the pad now, then fix floods on poles or buildings once the layout settles. Sometimes you keep both. Not explosion-proof on the standard range
Standard lighting plants in this range aren't explosion-proof. If the area is classified, send the zone and the gas or dust group. We'll route that enquiry to the Ex path.

FAQs
How long does hire make sense?
When the light is temporary or the pad moves. If the area will stay lit for a long stretch in one spot, buy or fixed floods may fit better. Put the duration in the email and we'll answer against that.
Who specifies mast height?
You can if the site has a standard. If not, send area size and what you're lighting and we'll suggest options.
Can a plant bridge until fixed floods arrive?
Yes. Say that in the brief so we quote plant cover and the longer-term floods together where it helps.
Are these explosion-proof?
Standard range isn't. Send zone + gas or dust group for classified areas.
