Ovals, fields and sportsgrounds
Community ovals, multi-use sports fields, netball and tennis courts, training grounds and local stadiums all sit on this page. Elite broadcast venues are a different conversation — say so in the email if that is your scope, and we will be honest about what we can and cannot cover.
We design the lighting to your brief, or we work to AS 2560. Aiming and uniformity are part of the quote. Existing poles can stay in the conversation when they are sound; new poles and foundations are scoped when the brief needs them.
AS 2560 — sports lighting levels
AS 2560 is the Australian sports lighting standard most clubs and councils call up in a brief or tender. The level of play matters: training and social play sit differently to competition, and televised or higher-class venues sit differently again. We do not publish made-up lux tables on this page. Send the sport, the class of play you need, and any council or association class already written into your documents, and we design to that — or to a custom brief you write yourself.
Uniformity, glare control and aiming belong in the same conversation as average light levels. A bright patch in the middle of an oval with dark corners is not a finished sports field. We treat aiming and uniformity as part of the design and the quote, not an afterthought.
AS 4282 — spill and neighbours
Outdoor sports lighting sits next to houses, roads and other sites. AS 4282 covers the obtrusive effects of outdoor lighting — spill, glare and how the installation sits with neighbours and the surrounding area. If your council brief or development approval mentions spill limits, curfew times, or neighbour concerns, put that in the email. We design with spill and aiming in mind rather than treating AS 4282 as a footnote after the poles are ordered.
Supply-only or supply and install
Supply-only — we design and supply to the brief or to AS 2560, and your local electricians or electrical contractor install. Useful when a club or council already has labour booked on site.
Full package — design, supply and install with our travelling electricians, when install is part of the job.
Say which you want when you enquire. "Maybe install later" without saying so usually slows the quote.
Where a council, school or corporate brief asks for Indigenous supplier participation, we're Supply Nation Certified. Mention it in the email if it applies to your tender.
