Collection: Switchgear · Thermal Overloads
An overload relay stops a motor drawing too much current for too long, and usually mounts straight under the contactor. We stock Schneider and NHP thermal overloads with adjustable ranges from 0.55 A to 32 A, plus Schneider electronic overloads.
Pick a relay whose range covers the motor's full-load current (FLC) from the nameplate, ideally with the FLC near the middle of the range. Then check it suits your contactor. Overloads generally mount on a matching brand and frame, so start with the contactor you've got.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right overload relay size?
Find the motor's full-load current (FLC) on the nameplate and pick a relay whose adjustable range includes it, ideally near the middle. Then set the relay to the FLC.
What's the difference between a thermal and an electronic overload relay?
A thermal relay uses a heat-sensitive element to trip on sustained over-current. An electronic relay measures current electronically and usually has a wider adjustment range. We stock both, here and in our electronic overload collection.
Will this overload relay fit my contactor?
Overloads are usually made to mount on a specific brand and frame of contactor. Check the compatible contactors in the product details, or email info@alledirect.com with your contactor model and we'll confirm.
What is the overload relay price?
Every relay here shows its current price, and thermal relays are generally the cheaper option. For several units, email info@alledirect.com for bulk pricing.
