Collection: Industrial · Industrial Sockets

Industrial sockets go where a standard GPO won't last: workshops, building sites, plant rooms and portable machinery. We stock surface-mount and extension (hanging) sockets from 15 A to 63 A, single and 3 phase, with IP66 and IP67 options from IPD, Legrand, Clipsal and others. Some IPD models have RCD protection.

Start with the plug. The socket has to match its amp rating and pins: 3 flat, 3 round, or 4 or 5 round for 3 phase (5 pin has a neutral, 4 pin doesn't). Then pick the IP rating, and decide on unswitched (here) or a switched outlet (see industrial outlets).

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between an industrial socket and an industrial outlet?

On our site, industrial sockets are the unswitched and extension (hanging) sockets in this collection. Industrial outlets have a built-in switch and are in our industrial outlets collection.

Which industrial plug fits which socket?

They need the same current rating and pin configuration (number of pins, round or flat). A 32 A 5 round pin plug needs a 32 A 5 round pin socket, so check both titles before you order.

What's the difference between a 4 pin and 5 pin 3 phase socket?

Both are 3 phase. The 5 round pin socket includes a neutral and the 4 pin doesn't, so match what the equipment's plug and supply need.

Do you sell industrial hanging or extension sockets?

Yes. Most sockets here are extension (hanging) sockets for flexible leads, from 15 A to 63 A. Matching plugs are in our industrial plugs collection.
