The Tesla Backup Gateway 2 (BG2) is the intelligent control hub for Tesla Powerwall systems, providing advanced energy management, monitoring, and backup capabilities. Acting as the brain of your Powerwall setup, the Backup Gateway 2 optimises solar self-consumption, manages battery reserves, and ensures a seamless transition to backup power during grid outages.
With the Backup Gateway 2, homeowners gain real-time energy insights and complete control via the Tesla app, allowing monitoring of solar production, battery levels, and overall home energy consumption from any mobile device. When installed with a main circuit breaker, the BG2 can be positioned at the service entrance, and with the optional internal panelboard, it can also serve as a load center for your home.
