Description
The guardian lighting system was developed to define a no go zone around working
machines like rope shovels and draglines to help eliminate accidents like this. With serious incidents involving swing machines with dozers and trucks, this system is to give a defined line of the swing radius where axillary machines shall not enter. This system consists of high powered LED lights to define a distinct red line on the ground that can beadjusted to suit any machine with multiple points of adjustment for a full perimeter of the
machine or across the rear.
This system was developed by TJL Revolutionary Products in Australia and made in Australia.
It is made to last with stainless steel construction, high quality LED components and
extensive vibration and element controls.
The ideal height of the light would be 3-4 metres off the ground with a beam length of 3.5-4
metres in length and a width of 400mm. Ideal location is lower section of the counterweight
if overhead lighting is used.
Fitting instructions
Only use a constant 24VDC supply of power, each light only draws no more the 2.5AMP
each (failure to do so will result in component damage)
Step 1
Mark out perimeter around the machine following the shape of the machine where the light
will need to be illuminating, now breaking this up into 3.5 metre sections, placing the light in
the middle of these 3.5 metre sections.
Step 2
Remove the weld on section from the light and mark where these will need to be welded on
the machine (follow all procedures for welding on machine and hot work tasks) It is ideal to
tack weld and fit the lights to check the correct placement. Once test fitted finish weld then
rust prevent paint the welded sections.
Step 3
Fit the lights and make any adjustments necessary, it is ideal once the lights are fitted to
lock tight the adjustment bolts and mounting bolts to stop bolts from vibrating loose.
Step 4
Once in place use the metal extrusion supplied to run between each light and secure in
place. This is to mount the power cable inside to stop falling debris from stretching of
breaking the wiring. Once in place drill small holes and secure the power cable with cable
ties. Connect all the lights to the 24VDC power source (run one power wire for each light
from the 24VDC power source).
Step 5
Follow re-energizing procedure
